  • Do use plastic (Forticon) behind the sleepers before backfilling.
  • Do install an Agi drain at the base of the wall for drainage.
  • Do Not scrub the sleepers to remove dirt or stains; a light garden hose should suffice.
  • Do Not use a pressure hose or expose the sleepers to excessive water from sprinklers.
  • Do Not use chemical solutions for cleaning, except for Efflorescence Remover.

Cleaning Concrete Sleepers & UFPs

To maintain the pristine condition of your sleepers:

  • Remove dust or dirt with a light hose.
  • Avoid scrubbing or using high-pressure hoses.

What is Lime Bloom & Lime Stain?

Cause & Prevention

Lime Bloom typically disappears over time through normal weathering. Rainwater, slightly acidic, will dissolve the calcium carbonate deposits on the surface of the concrete sleepers.
